They’re one of the most famous roasters in Cleveland, so no surprise that first on the list is Rising Star in the Van Aken District.
This coffee shop boasts a bright, open indoor space as well as quaint benches in their courtyard outside.
Seasonal summer drinks include their guava rosemary latte and a “cowboy cold brew” which you’ll have to order in order to understand! For treats, they partner with Philomena bakery and offer tasty cookies and other baked goods.
When it comes to fresh beans, they’re constantly releasing new roasts and old favorites like their Ethiopian Koke.

An award-winning bakery rises on the East side of Cleveland. Obviously, their talent is outstanding freshly baked bread, but don’t sleep on On The Rise for espresso drinks to pair with delightful croissants and the like.
The bakery is nestled in the Van Aken Market Hall. While it won’t give quintessential coffee shop vibes, there is plenty of seating outside in summer on the picnic benches.
56 Social Café & Catering

As you’d expect from a joint that advertises itself as a “cafe by day, restaurant by night” the vibes are immaculate at 56 Social.
My Blue Heaven is an intriguing espresso-based drink that’s one of their many rotating coffee specials (yes, it’s a blue coffee!) Come for a brunch, or just pick up some coffee to go.
